BERI VAROL  AIA, LEED, AP

Founder + Principal Architect

With more than 20 years of professional experience in projects of varying size, scope and construction type, Beri Varol brings enthusiasm, energy and attention to detail to every project.  As principal of the firm, he is the driving force behind the firm’s work and is personally vested in ensuring projects transition smoothly through all phases of design and construction.

Formative Years

Upon completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, Beri spent several years learning the process of architecture while working in creative and energetic office environments in Tucson, Arizona.  After moving to San Diego in 2000, he spent nine formative years with the firm Benson & Bohl Architects where he was given the opportunity to work on and manage a variety of commercial and multi-family residential projects.  Working in this highly collaborative team atmosphere, Beri became a master at communicating with associates and clients alike.  As a project manager, he developed a reputation for problem solving and guiding jobs efficiently through the entitlement and permitting processes.

Transformation

With a strong desire to pursue infill development and sustainable design, Beri went back to school for his Master of Architecture degree with an emphasis in Real Estate Development in 2008.  Unlike traditional real estate development programs, the Mred program offered at Woodbury University in San Diego was an opportunity to engage in a hands-on, studio-based curriculum taught by acclaimed architect/developers Jonathan Segal, Ted Smith, Lloyd Russell and Sebastian Mariscal.  BV architecture + development was established in 2009 with the goal of creating unique and functional spaces in the pursuit of quality architecture.
